Billy Bob the Beetle Bug sat on his street lamp in Moore, Oklahoma. The night was quiet. The lamp was warm.
“Time to bip,” he said. So he bipped.
“Time to bop.” So he bopped.
Then he bounced, just a little, and his goggles slid down his helmet. “Oops.” He pushed them up and smiled.
A breeze came by. Billy Bob opened his wings. He flew a small circle around the lamp, then landed right back on top.
“That’s enough adventure for bedtime,” he whispered. “Tomorrow we fly farther.”
The lamp hummed. Billy Bob closed his eyes. Good night from the Beetle Bug who spreads joy.
